This job began at the end of October 2006 and was updated weekly as construction continued through the fall of 2006. Updates resumed in the spring of 2007 as the fall/spring construction schedule was completed for the grand opening in June.

The wooden forms represent the back (or construction side) of the pool. This pool is "Z" shaped with a circular "kiddie" pool off to the side. Some ledge was encountered during excavation along the right side corner.

Crushed stone is spread and compacted throughout the entire floor of the pool. This aids in ground water drainage and results in an even, dry surface to continue construction.

This view shows the graded and compacted stone, and partial steeltex installation prior to steel rebar. Steeltex is secured to the wooden forms where the surrounding dirt grade is lower than the pool.

The steeltex is complete except for the entrance ramp area. The steel rebar installation has begun in the shallow end.

All the plumbing lines must be brought into the filtration equipment building through openings predetermined in the concrete footings and frostwalls. The pipes are backfilled with sand and compacted. Notice that the plumbing lines seem arbitrarily brought up through the filter equipment room floor. They are, however, scaled and brought up in their exact location in the room despite the lack of any filtration system yet...or even room walls!

All plumbing lines are pressure tested prior to any concrete floor pouring. This is accomplished by tying lines together into test stands. Note the pressure gauges on the larger pipes to the left.

Here you can see the pneumatic concrete installation (or gunite) of the "kiddie" pool. This pool is 1 ft. deep and features three spray jets on the step.
